The Cumberland Adult Reading Council is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that helps adults to read and write. We also help adults learn English as a second language. We are the only program in Cumberland County Tennessee offering free one-on-one tutoring for adults (18 and over).
Chattanooga Basics

The Chattanooga Basics are five evidence-based parenting and care-giving principles that can benefit children from all backgrounds. A broad range of Chattanooga organizations and community members will soon be helping to ensure that every parent and caregiver is fully supported in using the Chattanooga Basics practices in everyday life. YMCA Reach and Rise group mentoring program is designed to be a safe, healthy, & meaningful therapeutic place for 6 mentee children to talk about life issues in a group of their peers, with 2 adult volunteer mentors in each group. The program includes a matching system to pair a mentor to a mentee group, as well as activities and goals to achieve throughout the program. This program helps build a better future for youth by matching them with two adult mentors.
