Bylaws Amendment 1
To amend Article VII: Officers and Their Election, Section 5.

Amend Section 5 by striking “as a non-voting advisory member of.”

Currently reads:
The Immediate Past President shall serve for a term (2 years) as a voting member of the Board of Directors and as a non-voting advisory member of the Executive Committee.

Proposed Amendment if adopted would read:
The Immediate Past President shall serve for a term (2 years) as a voting member of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee.

Bylaws Amendment 2
To Amend Article X: Board of Directors, Section 1d

Amend Section 1d by substituting the current bylaw with the following:
The Parliamentarian is a non-voting member of the board of directors but shall be allowed to vote when a ballot vote is used to fill a vacancy on the Board.

Currently reads:
The Parliamentarian shall be allowed to vote when a ballot vote is used to fill a vacancy on the Board.

Proposed Amendment if adopted would read:
The Parliamentarian is a non-voting member of the board of directors but shall be allowed to vote when a ballot vote is used to fill a vacancy on the Board.

Bylaws Amendment 3
To Amend Article XIII: Standing and Special Committees

Amend Article XIII by adding a new section 8:
The Parliamentarian is allowed to vote on assigned committees.

Currently Reads: There is no current bylaw section 8 in Article XIII.

Proposed Amendment if adopted would read:
The Parliamentarian is allowed to vote on assigned committees.

Bylaws Amendment 4
To Amend Article XV: Councils: Relationship with the Tennessee PTA and the National PTA, Section 6a

Amend Article XV, Section 6a by adding a new sub-enumeration 1, 2, 3, and 4 under 6a:
1. Councils as a constituent organization of the Tennessee PTA are expected to align their activities and communications with the parent association’s mission, vision, values, and policies.
2. Councils as a constituent organization of the Tennessee PTA must comply with specific standards and requirements set by the parent association.
3. Councils as a constituent organization of the Tennessee PTA are expected to collaborate and support the parent association’s initiatives.
4. Councils as a constituent organization of the Tennessee PTA must have effective communication channels for their local unit members to ensure their membership is well-informed and can represent the parent association’s initiatives and programs at the local levels.

Currently Reads: There are currently no sub-enumerations under Section 6a.

Proposed Amendment if adopted would read:

Bylaws Amendment 5
To Amend Article XIX: National PTA Convention

Amend Article XIX by adding a new section 3:
If National PTA allows a virtual option to attend convention, the executive committee has the authority to designate funds, and the number of delegates allowed to take advantage of this opportunity.

Currently Reads: There is no current bylaw section 3 in Article XIX.
