Hello PTA Members!
The Tennessee PTA Board has held two great board meetings this term so far, and the Tennessee PTA has accomplished great things already! What humility it brings to watch such passionate, dedicated board members advocating for every child and doing something special that a statewide association can do – provide statewide connection and representation!
I am attending courses through the Chapman Institute this fall and one of the courses really tied well to PTA and to leadership. The course was titled Effective Way to Build Trust. Trust, I learned, equals personal connection, belief in values, and consistent delivery. To me, that describes Tennessee PTA: building that trust with personal connections, the PTA mission, and being consistent on our values to advocate for every child. As a leader, here are three key ingredients to build trust: Listen. Honesty. Support. These three values are the foundation to build leadership trust. I hope these informative phrases will help you to build enduring trust in leadership and in PTA advocacy.
