Update from the President of the Tennessee Parent Teacher Association
I hope everyone had a joyous holiday season! I also hope that as we move into 2017 we are even more determined to be advocates for the children of Tennessee and the nation. My wish is, as you continue reaching your goals and completing your programs, that you are refreshed and revitalized and eager to use your voice for public education.
During the holidays, I heard five phrases repeated at two different events. I took the hint and was inspired to share them with you. I hope they encourage you and let you know how much we at Tennessee PTA appreciate all the time and effort you have given.
The phrases are:
· How can I help you?
· I am proud of you.
· I love you.
· Thank you.
· And the most important one—WE!
WE, together, is an extremely powerful word. Let’s continue to grow in numbers and make our voice louder. Let’s ask others to join with us to fulfil our worthy mission.
Please, check out this month’s newsletter. You will see many opportunities to apply for awards, grants and to sign up for upcoming events. I encourage you now to mark your calendars so you won’t miss a thing!
I see great potential in 2017 and I hope you do also. I am optimistic that if we work together we will make this the most productive year ever. Remember our PTA tagline: everychild…one voice.
